We moved to Elkhart when I was in the 4th grade. I was not raised in a Christian home, but my Mom took us (4 kids) to church at Simpson United Methodist Church. I remember being in the youth group and going to camp, a time or two. I gave my life to God while in that youth group.
Life just went on. I married Mike at 18. We were married for three months when my brother Steve was in a swimming accident and broke his neck. I remember that my Mom stopped going to church and my Dad started going. It was a long year of going back and forth to the Fort Wayne, Parkview Hospital where Steve was a patient. I just knew that God was with us. I don’t know why I felt that way, but, I did. Mike worked a lot, so I raised our two children. We were living in Middlebury and we (me and the kids) always went to church. The one that we were most involved in was Middlebury Church of the Brethren. We went there for 20 years. Then we moved to Elkhart and Mike wanted to build a house that would be our retirement home. I loved our subdivision. I picked out our lot and it just so happened to be next door to John and Ruth Ann McLarney. They invited us to Adamsville Road Church of God. It is home to me. I love all my church family. I re-dedicated my life to the Lord on October of 2007 and I try to do His will daily.
